Thessalonica
Much of the ancient city of Thessalonia is buried under the present city centre of Thessaloniki. However, some areas have been excavated, and the site of the agora and some of the buildings around it, including a roofed colonnade alongside the agora, and the theater, can be seen today. Both of these places would have been important public facilities in Paul's day.
